PANELISTS WILL DISCUSS THE NORTHWEST’S
COMPETITIVE FUTURE
A panel of experts will gather on the Boise State campus
this month to discuss the fate of the Northwest when it comes to
entrepreneurship.
The series of panel discussions are being held in
conjunction with this year’s Northwest Venture Championship, presented by the
Boise State University College of Business and Economics, the Idaho National
Engineering and Environmental Laboratory, the Inland Northwest Research Alliance
and the Idaho Small Business Development Center.
The discussions will be held from 1-5:15 p.m. on Thursday,
March 20, in the Special Events Center of the Student Union. Topics include:
— "The Vision for Idaho’s Competitive Future: The
Role of Economic Development," 1-2:15 p.m.
— "Universities as Partners in Technology Transfer
and Commercialization," 2:30-3:45 p.m.
— "Marketing and Commercialization of Technology
Products and Services," 4-5:15 p.m.
Confirmed panelists include: Lt. Gov. Jim Risch; Michael
Ferguson, Idaho’s state economist; Sheryl Boyce, Boise Metro Economic
Development Council; William Ruud, former adviser to the governor; Gautam Pillay,
Inland Northwest Research Alliance; Larry Gebhardt, TechConnect East; Nick
Zilver, Montana State University TechLink; Shikar Sarin, Boise State; and Keith
Brown, PeopleMatter. Additional panelists are planned.
