DIVAS AT BOISE STATE FOR WOMEN�S HISTORY MONTH
Rosalie Sorrels and the Divas of Boise will perform
at 8 p.m. Monday, March 10, in the Boise State University Special Events
Center as part of the university�s celebration of Women�s History
Month.
Sorrels, of Grimes Creek, is a storyteller,
songwriter, singer and author of Way Out in Idaho, a collection of Idaho
folk songs. She left her Idaho home at 19, married and had five kids, then
divorced and took her children with her while she traveled the country as
a folksinger and storyteller. She has recorded 22 solo albums and appeared
on countless compilation works.
The Divas of Boise were created as a celebration of
the talent and creativity of women for the first Celebration of Women in
the Arts in 1995. From the theater to visual arts to the nightclub scene,
these writers, entertainers and musicians come from many backgrounds and
walks of life.
Admission is $8 general admission and $5 for
students of all ages, seniors and Boise State faculty, staff and alumni.
