Bruce Feiler, author of Abraham: A Journey to the Heart of Three Faiths and five other critically acclaimed books, will speak at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 10 in the Student Union Jordan Ballroom at Boise State University as part of the Kessler-Keener “Extraordinary Witness” Lecture Series.

The Kessler-Keener series brings individuals to Boise who have significantly impacted the lives of others by their work in human rights. Feiler’s address is co-sponsored by the Idaho Human Rights Education Center and Boise State’s Center for Multicultural and Educational Opportunities. Admission is $8 plus handling fee at Select-a-Seat.

A graduate of Yale, Feiler has studied at universities in Osaka and Oslo and holds a master’s degree in international relations from Cambridge. He has earned numerous awards for journalism and has written for The New York Times Magazine, the New Yorker, The Washington Post, Condé Nast Traveler and Gourmet.

An award-winning journalist and speaker, Feiler has traveled to more than 60 countries on five continents, immersing himself in different cultures and adventures. He has turned his curiosity into a career, writing on topics from clowning to Christianity with a sense of wonder, humor and inquisitiveness.

Most recently he has become known as both theological tourist and tour guide, exploring Biblical history and its physical and cultural roots in the recent bestsellers Walking the Bible and Abraham: A Journey to the Heart of Three Faiths. Abraham has inspired hundreds of grassroots interfaith discussions around the world.
