ACADEMY OF ST. GILES TO PERFORM MEDIEVAL MUSIC APRIL 4

The medieval music ensemble Academy of St. Giles and the Chamber Singers present “If the Face is Pale,” an evening of late medieval and Renaissance music at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 4, in the Morrison Center Recital Hall at Boise State University.

The performance centers around the French 15th-century folk song “Se la face ay pale,” which was arranged and adapted for many different venues by a number of 15th-century composers. Featured in this concert are the original folk song and four different arrangements, all composed by Guillaume Dufay. Dufay was the premier late-medieval composer who wrote both church music and court songs.

The evening will also include works by Josquin, Landini, Gibbons, Caccini and others. Admission is $5 general, $3 seniors and free to students of all ages and Boise State faculty and staff.
