NAMPA STUDENT TO PRESENT PAPER AT INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION

Boise State University student Patri Ann Thompson of Nampa will present a paper at the 2003 international conference of the English honor society Sigma Tau Delta, to be held March 20-23 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Thompson’s paper, “Love Above Nature in Whitman’s Live Oak, With Moss,” was selected from a pool of international submissions.

Thompson, a senior majoring in English with an emphasis in general literature, has maintained a 4.0 grade-point average for two years and is president of the English Majors Association at Boise State. She is a four-year recipient of the Laura M. Cunningham scholarship and also received an English department scholarship this year.

Thompson is the daughter of Cecilia Hurt and stepdaughter of Devin Hurt. A 1997 graduate of Nampa High School, Thompson lives in Nampa with her two-year-old son, Jordan.
