GENE HARRIS FESTIVAL OFFERS HALF-PRICE TICKET FOR LAID-OFF WORKERS

In light of a struggling economy, the Gene Harris Jazz Festival is striving to make this year’s event affordable for all. The Festival will offer workers who have been laid off a half-price, all-access ticket. The $32 ticket includes admission to Club Night on Thursday, April 3, as well as both evening concerts on Friday and Saturday, April 4 and 5.

Tickets are good for general admission seating only and must be purchased at The Pavilion box office on the Boise State campus beginning March 22. Ticket buyers must show proof of their recent layoff.

"We don’t want the downturn in our local economy to limit those who can come hear great jazz," said Festival Executive Producer Brad Peters. "We want the music to be available to as many as possible."

Other discounted ticket offers include a $10 student ticket that covers admission to both Friday and Saturday night concerts. Tickets can be purchased at The Pavilion box office or at the door. Students of all ages may purchase the tickets, but must show a student ID.

This year’s Festival will feature more than 60 jazz artists. Headliners include acclaimed jazz/blues vocalist Barbara Morrison with The Jeff Hamilton trio and The Dirty Dozen Brass Band on stage in The Pavilion at Boise State.

Regular ticket prices are as follows: Club Night, $25; Friday and Saturday nights, $20 and $40; all-access ticket, $65. For more information, visit www.geneharris.org or www.idahotickets.com.
