BOISE STATE OUTDOOR PROGRAM OFFERS WILDERNESS
SEMINAR
The Boise State University Outdoor Program is now
accepting registrations for the Wilderness First Aid Seminar, slated for 8
a.m.-5 p.m. April 26-27 in the Student Recreation Center. Registration is $140
general and $125 for Boise State students.
This 16-hour class, taught by the Wilderness Medicine
Institute of National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS), is the internationally
recognized standard in basic wilderness medicine and is the required training
for many organizations such as Outward Bound, search and rescue and commercial
guides and outfitters.
This seminar will provide the training necessary to safely
enjoy wild Idaho. Fast paced and hands-on, this two-day course covers a wide
range of wilderness medicine topics for people who travel, work and play in the
outdoors. This is the only opportunity this year to get this level of training
in southwest Idaho. Sign up early as the course is expected to sell out.
To register, visit the Outdoor Program Office, located in
the Student Recreation Center on University Drive across from the Student Union.
The office is open from 1-7 p.m. Monday through Saturday. For more information,
call 426-1946.
