BOISE
STATE ANNOUNCES WINNERS OF REGIONAL BUSINESS COMPETITION
The
second annual Northwest Venture Championship named its winners today after three
days of events and competition on the Boise State University campus.
Undergraduate
and graduate student teams from nine universities participated, competing to
sell their business idea to venture capitalists. The first-place winners go on
to compete in the national competition in April in Texas.
The
winners and their awards are as follows:
Graduate Track

First place: PlasiaTEK, University of Manitoba, $10,000 and HP Pocket PC and
Inkjet Printer. (Value: $16,200)

Second place: Wavelength, University of Houston, $2,000 and HP Pocket PC.
(Value: $6,000)

Third Place: Biomedic research, Tec de Monterrey, Guadalajara, $1,000 and HP
Pocket PC. (Value: $2,500)
Undergraduate
Track

First place: SLC Consulting, University of Arizona, $5,000 and HP Pocket PC and
Inkjet Printer. (Value: $12,600)

Second place: DVD's 24/7, Tec de Monterrey , Guadalajara, $1,000 and HP Pocket
PC. (Value: $3,000)

Third place: Boardway USA, Weber State University, $500 and HP Pocket PC.
