SYMPHONIC WINDS CONCERT SPOTLIGHTS 20TH CENTURY
COMPOSERS
The Boise State University Symphonic Winds will present a
concert at 4 p.m. Sunday, April 27, in the Morrison Center Main Hall. Tickets
are $5 general, $3 seniors and free for students of all ages and Boise State
faculty and staff.
Directed by music professor Marcellus Brown, the symphonic
band will present an English-American program featuring two of the great works
written for band in the 20th century, Paul Hindemith’s “Symphony in B-flat”
and Gustav Holst’s “First Suite in E-flat.” John King, former director of
bands and music educator from Capital High School and Les Bois Jr. High School,
will be featured as the guest conductor.
The Symphonic Winds concert is presented by the Boise
