Prepare for an authentic Polynesian dinner, live music and
dancing from Hawaii, Samoa, Tahiti, Tonga, New Zealand and Figi at Boise State
University’s annual Luau from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Sunday, April 27 in the Jordan
Ballroom in the Student Union. Dinner will begin at 7 p.m. and the show will
start at 7:30 p.m. The luau is presented by Boise State’s Hui-O-Aloha club.
This year’s entertainment will feature live Polynesian
music and cultural performances by Boise State students and community members.
Hawaiian products will be raffled during the event also. Dinner offers something
for everyone, including vegetarian selections. The menu will include Kahlúa
pig, teriyaki beef and chicken, chow funn (noodles mixed with vegetables), lomi
lomi salmon and chocolate and yellow cake with coconut frosting, among other
dishes.
Advance purchase ticket prices for the buffet-style dinner
and show are $15 for adults, $9 for students of all ages, and free for children
under 5. Tickets are available at Select-A-Seat, 426-1494 or www.idahotickets.com.
Tickets will also be available at the door for $17 for adults and $12 for
students. Show-only tickets will be available at the door for $5. The first 200
people will receive an authentic Hawaiian shell lei. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
The luau is an opportunity for the students of the Hui-O-Aloha
club to share their culture with area residents. The luau usually draws more
