SIGMA TAU DELTA PRESENTS A POETRY SLAM AT BOISE STATE

Boise State University’s English honor society, Sigma Tau Delta, will host its first Poetry Slam, which will begin at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, at the Student Union Hatch ‘C ’ and ‘D’ Ballrooms. Innovators of the spoken word are encouraged to participate by registering for free at the door to compete in this slam-style poetry contest. Students, faculty, staff and community members may all present poems, but only Boise State students are eligible to win prizes.

Contestants will be allowed one to three minutes to present their piece of original spoken words.

The top three student poets will win prizes in the form of gift certificates. Five people will be chosen randomly from the audience to adjudicate the event, scoring each poem on a 0.1-10.0 scale.

Admission to the event is $3 at the door and free for all students. For more information call 442-0578 or 367-0269.
