BOISE STATE CHORUSES JOIN TOGETHER FOR SPRING CONCERT APRIL 29

Several Boise State University choirs will join together for a spring choral concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, at the First Presbyterian Church, 950 W. State St. Admission at the door is $5 general, $3 seniors and free for students of all ages and Boise State faculty and staff.

The Meistersingers will perform J.S. Bach�s motet �Lobet dem Herrn� (�Praise the Lord�) and the Idaho premiere of Robert Kyr�s �Waging Peace Through Music;� the Vox Angelis Women�s Chorale will sing songs based on Emily Dickinson poetry; the University Singers will feature pieces conducted by graduate students as well as Russian bass Sergei Moraru; and the Chamber singers will perform works by early French Renaissance composers. All four choirs are directed by Boise State music professor Giselle Wyers.

In addition, the Boise State Men�s Chorus will perform Randall Thompson�s �The Last Words of David,� and a Holocaust remembrance tribute including �Dowidzenia,� which is Polish for �Farewell.� The Men�s Chorus is conducted by Boise State music professor James Jirak.
