BOISE STATE STUDENTS WIN IN STATEWIDE SKILLSUSA
COMPETITION
Four professional-technical education students from the
Selland College of Applied Technology at Boise State University took first place
- one student earning two first-place finishes - in the SkillsUSA competition
April 3, 4 and 5. In addition, seven more Boise State students finished second
or third in their categories.
SkillsUSA-VICA is an organization dedicated to providing
quality education experiences in leadership, teamwork, citizenship and character
development for students currently enrolled in professional-technical education
programs. The competition provides high school and college students the
opportunity to demonstrate their skills in "real world" applications
and to be honored for excellence.
More than 500 students competed for medals in the Idaho
competition held at Boise State University, Gowen Field and other Treasure
Valley locations. The state champions qualified to compete in the SkillsUSA
