LOCATION CHANGED FOR SLAM POETS BOISE STATE
PERFORMANCE
Alix Olson, a dynamic young lesbian-feminist slam poet and
a nationally recognized spoken work performer, will be performing on Friday,
April 25, at the Boise State University Student Union first floor dining hall.
The performance was originally scheduled in the Centennial Amphitheatre. Two

Olson has been recognized in the spoken word scene since
1998, the year that her team from New York Citys Nuyorican Poets Caf
clinched the National Poetry Slam championships. Since then, she has been
highlighted in Ms. Magazine and published in The Lesbian Review of Books,
Gathering of Tribes and two anthologies.
Olsons awards and accomplishments include the 1999 New
York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship, the 1998 Barbara Deming Women in the
Arts grant and the 1998 In Our Own Write award. She is in the process
of releasing her second solo CD, Independence Meal, on her own label, subtle
