BOISE STATE ROTC CADETS HONE SKILLS AT FIELD
TRAINING EXERCISE
Cadets in the Boise State University Reserved Officers
Training Corps (ROTC) recently participated in field training exercises at Camp
Williams, Utah, one of the largest National Guard training sites west of the
Mississippi River.
Several exercises were conducted, including land
navigation during both day and nighttime hours, simulated training exercises
involving camouflage, assault and concealment techniques, and the U.S. Army’s
Leaders Reactionary Course.
“The cadets were challenged throughout this exercise and
left with not only more skills, but a better understanding of themselves and how
to lead others during challenging times,” said Master Sergeant William Hilton.
ROTC was established at Boise State University in 1977 as
a voluntary program. Its objective is to provide university students who have
the ability and desire with an opportunity to become commissioned officers in
the U.S. Army.
