Four high school students from
southwestern Idaho who are enrolled in Boise State University�s
Upward Bound and Educational Talent Search programs will
attend a National Student Leadership Conference in Washington,
D.C in June.
The local students are Maggie
Yado, Caldwell; Megan Irby, Nampa; Ashley Cole, Melba; and
Jenny Gallegos, Kuna. They will join 150 students from across
the United States at the conference, sponsored by the Council
for Opportunities in Education.
Upward Bound and Educational
Talent Search are part of the federally funded TriO programs
designed to prepare and motivate students who are low income,
first generation and college bound for success during and
beyond high school. More information on the programs can be
