Benefit for Wildland Firefighters To Play At Boise State September 11

A benefit performance of “The
Guys” will be presented at 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, at the Boise State
University Special Events Center. Tickets are $15 and are available at the door
or in advance at
www.sponprod.com. Proceeds will benefit the Wildland Firefighter Foundation,
a Boise-based non-profit organization that provides emergency financial
assistance to families of fallen firefighters and aids with support of their
young children.
“The Guys” is based on the true story of a reporter who befriends a New York
City fire chief and helps him write eulogies for firemen who died while trying
to rescue others during the World Trade Center attacks. The show is helmed by
longtime Boise director John Myers and stars Treasure Valley theater veterans
John Elliott and Janet Summers.
Spontaneous Productions is proud of its commitment to community-based theater.
Now in its seventh season, Spontaneous has brought memorable productions of
shows to its Boise stage such as an all-male version of “Nunsense,” the
controversial “Most Fabulous Story Ever Told,” “Torch Song Trilogy,” “Equus,”
“Jeffrey,” “Love! Valour! Compassion!,” “The Laramie Project” and the company’s
signature production, “The Rocky Horror Show.”
