James Jirak To Perform For Boise State's Faculty Artist Series

Tenor James Jirak, a Boise State University music professor and director of
the Vocal Jazz Ensemble, will present an evening of vocal music at 7:30 p.m.
Friday, Sept. 19, in the Morrison Center Recital Hall. The performance is part
of the Faculty Artist Series. Admission is $5 general, $3 seniors and free to
all students and Boise State faculty and staff.
Jirak will sing an aria from Mozart’s “Don Giovanni,” as well as selections
from Dvorak’s “Three Modern Greek Songs,” Negro spirituals and selected French
art songs. The program also includes a vocal improvisation. Jirak will be
accompanied on the piano by Boise State music department chair James Cook.
