Films At Boise State

Boise State University kicks off its Weekly Film Series Sept. 8. Films will
be shown in the Special Event Center at 7 p.m. Admission is $1 and popcorn and
soda will be available for an additional $1. Student Programs Board sponsors the
film series; call 426-1223 for more information. These are the films scheduled
through the end of September:
Sept. 8: “Stand By Me” (R; drama; Wil Wheaton, River Phoenix, Corey Feldman,
Jerry O’Connell; 1986). Four young friends overhear information on a boy their
age who had been hit by a train. The boys set out together to find his body on
an adventurous and heart-warming discovery of life and friendship.
Sept 22: “Princess Mononoke” (PG-13; anime; voices of Angelina Jolie and Matthew
Lillard; 1999). One the edge of a wild forest, an epic battle rages between the
encroaching civilization of man and the gods of the forest. It’s a war that
threatens to unbalance the forces of nature and wipe out each side’s very
existence. Now, only one brave warrior can keep the two worlds from destroying
each other.
Sept. 29: “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom” (PG; action; Harrison Ford;
1984). When hero Indiana Jones agrees to help a village find its sacred glowing
stones hidden deep within an underground mine, he stumbles onto a secret, magic
cult.
