Canadian Poet Fred Wah To Speak At Log Cabin Literary Center

|
Fred Wah, one
of Canada’s premier poets and memoir writers, will read from his
award-winning books at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, at the Log
Cabin Literary Center, 801 Capital Blvd. His presentation is
sponsored by Boise State University’s Canadian Studies program and
the English department’s Graduate Writing program.
Wah is the author of more than a dozen books of poetry and Diamond
Grill, a memoir of growing up Chinese American that movingly
depicts small town life and the various activities in and around
his father’s diner in Western Canada. He has taught creative
writing at the University of Calgary and has edited several
innovative literary journals. Wah’s writing combines a deep
ecological vision with a jazzy and wry way with words.
Wah’s books are reserved in the Albertsons Library under the name
of adjunct English professor Norm Weinstein.
