Boise States
International Programs will present the universitys first study
abroad fair today. Representatives from 20 different study abroad
programs from throughout the U.S. will be on hand to discuss
options with students. Financial aid advisers and students who
have studied abroad will also be available.
Students from any discipline can study abroad, from engineering to
English. International Programs Director Sabine Klahr said
students gain a unique international perspective on world issues
when they study abroad, which is often useful when they leave
college and enter the business world.
Common misconceptions about studying abroad is that it is too
expensive, that students must have a high grade point average to
qualify, or that they must speak a second language, Klahr said.
However, the study programs can be very affordable, students with
a 2.5 GPA can participate and most are offered in both English and
a countrys native language.
The fair runs from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. in the Jordan Ballroom on the
second floor of the Student Union. For more information, call
