Poet Featured In Reading, Writer's Workshop Oct.10

The Extended Studies program at Boise State University will present a writer’s workshop featuring poet Joan Logghe on Friday, Oct. 10.
The workshop will begin at 10 a.m. at the Boise Contemporary Theater, 854 Fulton St. Both new and experienced writers are invited to participate, but limited spaces are available for the free workshop. Call 426-1709 to reserve a spot.
Logghe will read some of her work and then do a writing workshop that focuses on using small poetic forms.
Logghe will also present an extended workshop in Idaho City over the weekend of Oct. 10-12. For fee information for that workshop, call the Log Cabin Literary Center at 331-8000.
Logghe has won a National Endowment Fellowship in poetry, a Barbara Deming Memorial/Money for Women grant, and a Mabel Dodge Luhan Internship. She has been a presenter, keynote speaker or reader at a variety of settings in her home state of New Mexico and internationally. She is on the faculty at Ghost Ranch Conference where she offers writing workshops throughout the year. Her books include “Sofia,” “Blessed Resistance” and “Another Desert: Jewish Poetry of New Mexico.”
