Marimbist Naoko Takada To Perform For Classic Performance Series

Boise State University’s Student Union Classic Performances Series presents Naoko Takada at 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, in the Special Events Center. Naoko is an accomplished solo and guest marimbist performing in both the United States and Japan. Tickets are $10 general and $5 for seniors, students 17 and under, and Boise State students, faculty, staff and alumni through Select-a-Seat. Born in Tokyo, Takada began to study the marimba at the age of 8. She first appeared as a soloist with an orchestra at age 11, performing with the Tokyo Symphony and Tokyo Chamber orchestras. Takada has earned degrees in music from California State University, Northridge and Ithaca College. A Yamaha performing artist, she is currently studying at the Boston Conservatory with Nancy Zeltsman.
