Boise State Offers Spring
Study Tour to Vienna and Prague
Boise
State University music professor Del Parkinson will lead an
educational �Sound of Music� study tour of Vienna and Prague May
22-31, 2004. Parkinson has directed more than two dozen study tours to
locations around the world, including
New York, London, Vienna, Paris and Rome.
The trip is organized through Boise State�s Division of Extended
Studies.
Participants will walk through old
Vienna and explore St. Stephen�s Cathedral, visit the Hofburg imperial
palace and the summer home at Schonbrunn, and take a guided tour of
the Fine Arts Museum. Other experiences include watching a training
session at the Spanish Riding School and enjoying a meal on the
outskirts of the Vienna Woods.
In Prague, explore Prague Castle, St.
Vitus Cathedral and Winceslas Square, visit the colorful market by the
old town square, stroll the ancient winding cobblestone streets, and
marvel at the beautifully preserved palaces near the medieval Charles
Bridge.
In both cities, tour participants will
also enjoy carefully selected world-class performances of music, opera
and ballet.
Cost is $3,500, which includes round-trip airfare from Boise, eight
nights� hotel accommodations, most meals, train ticket from Vienna to
Prague, tickets to concert, opera and ballet performances, and
sightseeing guides and admission charges.
The first deposit of $1,500 is due by
Nov. 15, $1,000 is due by Dec. 15 and the final payment is due Jan.
