Boise State Offers Reach Health Fair For The Community

Free health screenings and information on health alternatives will be available at the Boise State University REACH Health Fair from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, in the Student Union Jordan Ballroom. Families are welcome and encouraged to attend, as there will be valuable educational booths for all ages. Free parking will be available near the stadium for health fair attendees. Health care vendors will offer information on nutrition, dentistry, immunizations, fitness and financial planning. Bone density screenings will be available for $30. Flu shots will be administered, free for students with student health insurance, $12 for students without student health insurance, and $15 for faculty and staff. There will be free hearing and vision screenings. Booths from local health-conscious organizations include 24-hour Fitness, Central District Health Department, Campus Rec and Compulsive Eaters Anonymous. The Idaho Dairy Council will provide free milk and the Susan B. Komen Foundation will be passing out free t-shirts. The Health Fair is sponsored by REACH (Recreation, Education, and Awareness Through Community Health), a group of students in the Boise State department of kinesiology’s health promotion program, and Student Programs Board. Admission to the REACH Health Fair is free.
