Boise State Event Celebrates African Culture with Dinner, Dance

Boise State University will host African Night 2003 at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, in the Student Union Jordan Ballroom. Tickets are $5 each or $15 per family and can be purchased through Theresia at 939-5584, Naffie at 938-8943 or Sharon at 426-2807. Native African attire is encouraged.

The evening is a cultural celebration including dinner, dancing and other entertainment. African Night is co-sponsored by the Boise State Black Student Alliance student group and Umoja, a community group whose name means “unity.” Umoja’s purpose is to foster unity among all Africans of the Diaspora, whether they are recent or not so recent immigrants from the continent.
