Peabody Trio Master Class
Moved To New Day and Time

| A
master class by the Peabody Trio, originally scheduled for
Saturday, Nov. 1, has been moved to 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31, due to
a scheduling conflict. The free class will be held in the Morrison
Center Recital Hall and is open to the public. Fee parking will be
available in the parking structure at University Drive and Brady
Street. The class precedes the opening
concert of the Boise Chamber Music Series, featuring the Peabody
Trio. The concert is at 8 p.m., also in the Morrison Center
Recital Hall. Tickets are $20 general and $15 for students and
seniors. For tickets or additional information, call Jeanne Belfy
at 426-1216.
Back for their fourth appearance in the Boise Chamber Music
Series, the Peabody Trio, including violinist Violaine Melançon,
cellist Natasha Brofsky and pianist Seth Knopp, won the
prestigious Naumberg Chamber Music Award in 1989 and currently
serves as the resident faculty ensemble of the Peabody
Conservatory in Baltimore, a position they have held since 1989.
They have been heard on Saint Paul Sunday Morning, Morning Pro
Musica, NPR’s Performance Today, CBC, Radio Canada, and
WQXR Listening Room in New York.
Featured in Friday’s concert will be Beethoven’s “Trio Op. 70,
no. 2” (the “Post-Ghost Trio”), Alfred Schnittke’s evocative
postmodern “Trio of 1992,” and Schubert’s “Op. 99.”
