Patriotic Concert At Boise State To Honor U.S. Veterans

The Treasure Valley Concert Band, under the direction of Boise State music professor Marcellus Brown, will perform an evening of patriotic marches, songs, hymns and overtures in honor of Veterans Day. The biennial concert, “Americans Remembered,” is at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 10, in the Morrison Center Main Hall. Admission is free.
    The band will be joined by the Boise Master Chorale, under the direction of Boise State music professor James Jirak. Selections include a piece written following the Sept. 11 attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon, “Battle Hymn of the Republic,” and a salute to the military, complete with flags.
The program will also feature guest conductor Paul Aitken and the music of John Williams, John Philip Sousa, Randol Bass and two area composers: Peter Covino and Aaron Pike.
