REC Offers Ironman Challenge During November

It’s not too late for members of the Boise State community to find out if they are “made of iron” by competing in The REC’s Ironman Challenge. Participants in the Ironman Triathlon are required to swim 2.5 miles, bike 112 miles and run 26.2 miles during the first three weeks of November. “The great thing about our Ironman Challenge is that everything counts,” said Lisa Stuppy, assistant director for fitness. Participants are encouraged to use the elliptical machines, Stairmasters, and other equipment or participate in classes such as precision cycling at The REC. They can then check the conversion chart to mark off accumulated “miles.” The fee to register is $10 and all finishers will receive an Ironman Challenge T-shirt.
