Christmas Gifts For Classical Music Lovers

Boise State Radio to Air Series on KBSU, KBSM, and KBSW

 Jim Svejda Alan Chapman

Buying classical CDs, especially unheard new releases, can be a daunting and risky endeavor. Fear no more — for great CD gift-giving tips, tune in as Boise State Radio airs a three-part series at 9 a.m. Wednesdays Dec. 10, 17, and 24.

Join classical music host Alan Chapman and Jim Svejda, author of The Insider’s Guide to Classical Recordings, as they highlight some of the best CDs available in stores this season and give you the inside scoop on what to buy for the music lovers on your list. On Dec. 10, they will rate new releases by some of today’s hottest artists. The topic on Dec. 17 will be the best of classical holiday music. On Christmas Eve, Jim will share several remarkable but hard-to-find CDs — as rare as gold, frankincense or myrrh — and his “insider” shopping secrets. Politics, cheapskates, and above all, outstanding music, come together in this potpourri of holiday fun.

KBSU can be heard on 90.3 FM Boise, 90.9 FM Cascade, 106.3 FM Stanley, and 91.1 FM Lower Stanley; KBSM can be heard on 91.7 FM McCall; KBSW can be heard on 91.7 FM Twin Falls, 93.5 FM Ketchum, 89.3 FM Bellevue, 89.7 FM Challis, and 91.9 FM Salmon. Boise State Radio is a listener-supported service of Boise State University and can be found on the Web at http://radio.boisestate.edu.
