Boise State Staff Members
Assist U.S. Troops In Afghanistan
| Chris
Blanchard, administrative assistant in the School of Social Work
at Boise State University, and Karen Kelsch, management assistant
in the College of Social Sciences and Public Affairs, were
recently presented with certificates of recognition and U.S. flags
that were flown over the Task Force 44 MED Compound at Bagram Air
Base, Afghanistan, on July 4 of this year.
The two Boise State staff members were
recognized for assisting U.S. troops by gathering and posting
downloadable sheet music to the Web for use in church services.
The request had come from Cpt. Robert Nogueras, son-in-law of Bob
Fritsch, a senior director in the BSU Foundation office, and
Kelsch and Blanchard volunteered to help with the project.
The certificates accompanying the flags noted that they were
flown in honor of freedom and as a tribute to the men and women
of the Armed Forces. Both certificates were signed by President
George W. Bush.
