Boise State Offers Flute,
Piano Concerts January 25

| The
Boise State University department of music will present two
concerts on Sunday, Jan. 25, in the Morrison Center Recital Hall.
Admission for each concert is $5 general, $3 for seniors and free
for students of all ages and Boise State faculty and staff.
The American Piano Duo will perform at 4 p.m. Consisting of Boise
State music professor Del Parkinson and Brigham Young University
professor Jeffrey Shumway, the duo has been performing together
for 20 years. Their program includes the Northwest premiere of
Leonard Bernstein’s “Symphonic Dances from West Side Story,”
arranged for two pianos, “Paganini Variations” by Witold
Lutoslawski and “Sonata” by Johannes Brahms.
At 7:30 p.m., the Imbaté Duo will present a program blending
ancient musical traditions with contemporary techniques. Imbaté
consists of Boise State music professor Liana Tyson on flute and
Blake Tyson on percussion.
