Boise State Engineering
Students Achieve 100 Percent Pass Rate on Exam

| Boise
State University engineering students achieved a 100 percent pass
rate on the Fundamentals of Engineering examination administered
in October 2003. Every one of the19 mechanical, civil and
electrical engineering students passed the exam, which is required
for engineers working toward licensure as Professional Engineers.
Since the College of Engineering’s inception in 1997, Boise
State has achieved a pass rate above 90 percent, the highest
results among Idaho educational institutions. Additionally,
engineering students in the state of Idaho hold the highest pass
rate of any state in the country.
“The national average is about 70 percent,” said College of
Engineering Dean Cheryl Schrader. “The 100 percent pass rate by
Boise State students reflects the strength of our undergraduate
students and programs and the fact that our students graduate
equipped to immediately contribute as professionals.”
The Fundamentals of Engineering examination
is administered by the Board of Professional Engineers and
Professional Land Surveyors in the State of Idaho.
