Online Resource Helps
Students Cope With Mental Health Issues

| Boise
State University students and others have a new resource available
to help them cope with questions or concerns regarding depression
and other mental health issues. At ulifeline (www.ulifeline.org/portal.asp?edu=bsu),
users can get answers to a variety of questions simply and in a
non-threatening environment. The page provides access to Boise
State Counseling Services and other campus programs.
Current services offered include:
 | “Go Ask Alice,” which fields about 1,500
questions weekly from college and high school students, parents,
teachers and others; questions are answered 24 hours a day on a
wide range of mental health subjects. |
 | A mental health and drug information
library |
 | The Duke Diagnostic Psychiatry Screening
Program |
 | A drug database resource |
 | Suicide prevention resources |
 | Ulifeline was launched by Ron Gibori,
whose fraternity brother at the University of Arizona committed
suicide in 1998. The program is available at more than 90
colleges and universities. |
