Food Showcase At Boise State Highlights Cuisine From The Philippines

The Boise State University Filipino-American Student Organization will host a food showcase from 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, Jan. 24, at the Falcon Valley Recreational Club, 3960 S. Federal Way in Boise. Admission is free and includes a sample of lumpia (pronounced loom’-pee-yah), a traditional Filipino egg roll. The event will be catered by Sonia’s Catering. A 12-pack of frozen lumpia may be purchased at the event for $4; a lunch of adobo (a stew-like creation that is the national dish of the Philippines), steamed rice, pancit (a rice-noodle stir fry) and lumpia will be available for $6. All proceeds benefit the Filipino-American Student Organization.
