Boise State Gene Harris
Jazz Festival Ticket Discount Ends Jan. 31

|
Discounted
season passes for the 2004 Gene Harris Jazz Festival are available
for as low as $43 until Saturday, Jan. 31. Ticket prices will
increase beginning Feb. 1.
Festival passes cover admission to all three evenings and
represent a 40 percent savings over individual ticket prices. They
are available at all Select-a-Seat outlets, by phone at
208-426-1494 or online at
idahotickets.com.
The 2004 Festival April 1-3 will feature legendary jazz pianist
Dave Brubeck and vocalists Ernie Andrews and Rebecca Parris as
headliners. Brubeck will be featured with his quartet and the
Boise Philharmonic during “Gene’s Jazz Party” on Saturday evening,
April 3, in the Bank of America Centre. Andrews and Parris will be
part of “Singin’ and Swingin’” on Friday evening, April 2, in the
Bank of America Centre. Other featured artists include Llew
Matthews, Andy Martin, the Boise State Big Band and the Riverside
Jazz Orchestra.
Club Night, Thursday, April 1, in downtown Boise will feature the
Gospel stylings of Louise Rose, the Llew Matthews Trio, the
Patrick Lamb Band (a Portland-based ensemble that combines funk,
R&B, smooth jazz and more), Lady Mem’Fis (sultry standards with a
heart of soul) and more.
Individual tickets are $29 for Club Night for the general public
and $15 for students, $22-$75 for the Friday night concert and
$25-$85 for the Saturday night concert. A special $12 student
ticket covers admission to both concerts and is available to
students of all ages with a student ID.
In its seventh year at Boise State, the Gene Harris Jazz Festival
brings jazz musicians to Boise for three nights of concerts and
two days of student clinics and competitions. For the first time,
the 2004 festival will feature clinics for elementary school
children.
