Artist Paul Stout To Offer
Lecture At Boise State

|
Visiting artist Paul
Stout will present a lecture at 5 p.m. Feb. 5 in the Farnsworth
Room of the Student Union Building. The presentation, based on
Stout’s New American Landscape collection, is free and open to the
public.
Stout’s diverse work has been exhibited frequently since 1987. The
focus of his most recent collection, New American Landscape, is “.
. .the interaction of technology, nature, culture, and how we, as
a society, use tangible technological explanations to describe the
natural world.” With this in mind, Stout creates an original
artistic media from a unique pairing of contemporary technology
and nature. He is the recipient of many honors, most recently a
research grant from the University of Utah.
Stout is a full-time artist as well as assistant professor of art
at the University of Utah. He received a BFA in sculpture from
Arizona State University in 1996, and an MFA from San Francisco
State University in 2001.
