Expert Offers Advice On
Turning Business Ideas Into Reality
| Good
ideas dont always translate to good business propositions. Rick
Ritter, technology services consultant for the Idaho Small
Business Development Center, will present Good Idea. Bad
Business, a workshop on the ins and outs of starting a business,
from 3:30-4:20 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, in room 103 of the
Engineering and Technology building, 1375 University Drive.
Everyone has thought at one time or another Aha, I have a
great idea for a product, Ritter said. But not every idea can
be made into a good business.
Ritter's presentation will be an overview of
things people need to consider when trying to turn an idea into a
business, such as market research, accessing the technology,
determining whether people would buy the product, how to
manufacture it, whether it can be manufactured at the appropriate
price point, whether they have an appropriate management team and
how to pay for start-up costs.
The workshop is free and open to all. The workshop is part of
Boise States National Engineers Week activities Feb. 23-28. For
more information, call 4432.
