Boise State University department of music will offer several
music concerts and recitals in March. Following is the schedule.

426-3980. Wednesday, March 3, 7:30
p.m. Les Bois Jr. High School Gym, 4150 E. Grand Forest Dr. —
Treasure Valley Concert Band.
The Treasure Valley Concert Band will
present a repeat of its February concert, joined by the Les Bois
Jr. High School band and organist Sean Rogers. The program
includes the finale from Saint-Saens’ organ symphony and Sousa’s
“Riders of the Flag.” Boise State music professor Marcellus Brown
conducts. Free.
Saturday, March 6, 8 p.m., Morrison Center Main Hall — Boise
Master Chorale
The Boise Master Chorale, under the
direction of Boise State music professor Jim Jirak, performs with
members of the Boise Philharmonic as part of the NW American
Choral Directors Association Conference. The concert is open to
the public. Tickets are $15 through Select-a-Seat.
Friday, March 12, 7:30 p.m., Hemingway Center — Vox Angelis
The Boise State women’s chorale, Vox Angelis, performs works
taken from the canon of treble choir literature. Steve Kuykendall
conducts. Admission is $5 general, $3 for seniors and free to
students of all ages and Boise State faculty and staff.
Sunday, March 14, 7:30 p.m., Morrison Center Main Hall —
Orchestra Concert
The University Symphonic Orchestra and the Chamber Orchestra
combine to present “Musical Jokes and Pranks” featuring Richard
Strauss’ romantic tone poem “Till Eulenspiegel’s Merry Pranks” and
Haydn’s “Symphony No. 45 in f minor.” Guest soloists include Boise
State faculty Linda Kline-Lamar and Jack Koncel. Craig Purdy
conducts. Admission is $5 general, $3 for seniors and free to
students of all ages and Boise State faculty and staff.
Monday March 15 and Wednesday March 17, 7:30 p.m., Morrison
Center Recital Hall — Flute Concerts
Two flute concerts will showcase the beauty of this instrument.
The Idaho Flute Society professionals — Linda Yordy, Melody Garett,
Cy Gilbert, Karlin Coolidge and Francesca Arnone, with James Cook
on piano and Joseph Baldassarre on guitar — perform March 15. The
Boise State Flute Choir performs March 17. Admission to each
concert is $5 general, $3 for seniors and free to students of all
ages and Boise State faculty and staff.
In addition, the following students will
present recitals. Unless otherwise noted, all recitals are free
and in the Morrison Center Recital Hall at 7:30 p.m.
Sunday, March 7 — Krista Aasland and
Saesha Senger, flute. 4 p.m.
Sunday, March 7 — Alexis Feo
Fernandez, piano.
Wednesday, March 10 — Rodney
Zuroeveste, saxophone, and Angela Hartman, clarinet.
Friday, March 12 — Shana Fehrs and
Kristin Newhall, violin.
