The
Boise State University Volunteer Services Board (VSB), a
student-run organization that promotes volunteerism, is looking to
fill two positions: an immediate opening for an environmental and
animal issues coordinator and a director for the 2004-2005
academic year.The environmental and
animal issues coordinator is responsible for creating programs
such as Earth Week and Humane Society Animal Day, as well as
co-organizing and participating in regular VSB events such as
Service Saturday.
The coordinator position pays a monthly
stipend of $270 and the time commitment expected is approximately
15 hours per week. Candidates for the position must be enrolled in
and maintain at least 6 credits and hold at least a 2.25 GPA.
The director provides direction and vision
for VSB and supervises an assistant director, four issue
coordinators, a graphic designer and a volunteer coordinator. The
director also administers a $47,000 annual budget and programs
such as Service Saturday and other volunteer initiatives.
The director position pays a monthly stipend of $550 and the
time commitment expected is between 20 and 30 hours per week
(including the summer). The starting date for the position is
April 1 and the successful applicant will be trained during the
month of April. Once trained, the new director’s term of office
will be May 1, 2004 to May 1, 2005. Candidates for the position
must be full-fee paying students at Boise State and hold at least
a 2.5 GPA.
