As
part of Boise State University’s 30-year anniversary celebration,
community members are invited to a reception honoring eight
professors who have been named Carnegie Foundation Professors of
the Year. The reception will be from 4-5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb.
25, in the Student Union Jordan C Ballroom. There will be a formal
presentation at 4:30 p.m. Parking is available in the Student
Union visitor fee lot.The honorees
are:
• Idaho Center for the Book director and
English professor Tom Trusky, 1990, 1991 and 1993
• Honors College director and political
science professor Greg Raymond, 1994
• Associate vice president for Academic
Affairs and political science professor Stephanie Witt, 1998
• Nursing professor Pam Gehrke, 1999
• Biology professor Russell Centanni, 2000
• Andrus Center fellow and political science
professor John Freemuth, 2001
• History professor Todd Shallat, 2002
• Spanish professor Alicia Garza, 2003
The 30-year anniversary week culminates with the installation
of President Bob Kustra at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 27, in the Student
