Poet Leslie Scalapino To
Give Free Reading At Boise State

Leslie
Scalapino, noted poet and author, will read from her original
poetry at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 19, in the Student Union Bishop
Barnwell Room at Boise State University. The reading is part of
the Creative Writing MFA Reading Series and is free and open to
the public.
Scalapino has published 23 books of poetry, fiction, essays and
plays. Her books of poetry include “Zither & Autobiography”
(Wesleyan University Press), “way” (North Point Press), “New Time”
and “The Tango” (Granary Books). Her books of fiction include
“Dahlia’s Iris—Secret Autobiography and Fiction” (FC2 Press),
“Defoe” (Green Integer), “The Return of Painting, The Pearl, and
Orion” (Talisman), and “Orchid Jetsam” (Tuumba). She has also
published a book of essays titled “The Public World/Syntactically
Impermanence.”
The Creative Writing MFA Reading Series for
the spring will also include the following readings: Alice Notley,
April 5, Hemingway Center; Eleni Sikelianos, April 16, Bishop
Barnwell Room; Margot Livesey, April 28, Hemingway Center.
