Boise State Metal Arts Students To Auction Collaborative Neckpieces

Students of Boise State University metal arts professor Anika Smulovitz will auction off three collaborative works during the month of April. Silent auction bids will be taken at R. Grey Jewelry Gallery, 818 W. Idaho Street in Boise, from April 1-30. Portions of the winning bids are tax deductible; proceeds will help buy equipment for the Boise State art metals studio. The three art works are neckpieces created from separate “links” made by the students. The three works are: “Dysfunctional Family,” created by Mirella Alvarez, Todd Brandel, Dustin Dougan, Jolene Dutkus, Molly Gallaher, Rocio Galvan, James Humphrey, Michelle Keller, Maiyan Linane, Maria Lopez, Margaret Ratliff, Jennifer Regensberg, Kathryn Sander, Laura Sherrill and Jen Waugh. “Death to Polly,” created by Barbara Bowling, Mishell Chernobieff, Jeanne Giltzow, Slieb Greeley, Tobiann Grindstaff, Dan Hardin, Lindsey Hope, Richard Johnson, Cortney Kins, Brett Phillips, Velia Salinas, Heather Schumacher, Marguerite Verbree and John Wells. “Yesterday, I went walking and found a strange cacophony of my own memories on the sidewalk,” created by Darla Alders, Abby Bernards, Erin Cunningham, Nate Dyer, Dave Earnhart, Alan Estes, Kaila Heikkola, Amber Holloway, Michele Lesica, Jessica Quint, Jim Reeves, Jenny Rice and Ashley Wood. -30- Contact Anika Smulovitz Department of art 208 426-4060 Media Contact Kathleen Craven communications and marketing 208 426-3275
