Notley has published more than 20 books of poetry such as “At
Night the States” (1987), “Close to Me and Closer . . . (The
Language of Heaven) and Desamere” (1995), and “How Spring Comes”
(1981), co-winner of the San Francisco Poetry Award for books of
poetry. Her other works include the book-length poem “The Descent
of Alette” (1996), “Mysteries of Small�Houses” (1998), and her
most recent book of poetry “Disobedience” (2001), winner of the
2002 Griffin International Prize. Forthcoming is a book of essays
on poets and poetry, “Coming After.”

open to the public.
