Boise State Hosts Guided
Tour Of Book Art Exhibit April 12

The
Boise State University department of English will host a free
guided tour of works by internationally-acclaimed book artist
Roberta Lavadour. The “Biblio Walkabout” is at 7 p.m. Monday,
April 12, on the first floor of the Liberal Arts Building.
Lavadour, who lives in the foothills of eastern Oregon’s Blue
Mountains, began making art books in high school, long before she
discovered it was a recognized art form. “I’ve always been
captivated by the idea of making art from the materials in my
immediate environment and have always said that the best thing
anyone ever did for my artistic development was to push me out of
the house on summer mornings when I was a kid and say, ‘Find
something to do until dinner time,’” she said.
An exhibit of Lavadour art books will be on
display from March 29 through April 12 in the Liberal Arts
Building. Building hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. daily and admission is
free.
