Boise State Professor
Receives Fellowship
| Boise
State assistant professor of printmaking Kimiko Miyoshi has been
awarded a fellowship from the Jentel Artist Residency Program.
Miyoshi will be granted private accommodations, a workspace and a
stipend to reduce living expenses during the residency. The
program is conducted on a working cattle ranch in Wyoming for four
weeks, allowing artists unfettered time to reflect and meditate on
the creative process in a setting that preserves the agricultural
and historical integrity of the land.
The focus of Miyoshis work is to transform insignificant objects
or mundane phenomena into seductive art works that challenge the
hierarchal status of things and their socially assigned values.
Her recent exhibitions include 70 W / m2: Remarks on Solar
Phenomena and Sky in Water at
Plan B.
