Two
classes designed to prepare participants for CISCO certification
begin on Monday, April 19. The hands-on classes are instructor-led
or e-learning-led evening training programs that are offered by
the Center for Workforce Training in the College of Applied
Technology at Boise State.
Fundamentals of Network Security will cover the design and
implementation of security solutions that will reduce the risk of
revenue loss and vulnerability. There will be particular emphasis
on technologies, products, solutions, AAA and VPN implementation,
management and more.
A second class, Introduction to Wireless
LANs, will focus on the design, planning, implementation,
operation and troubleshooting of the wireless networks. It is a
comprehensive overview of technologies, security and best
practices in wireless LAN setup and troubleshooting, 802.11 (a, b,
and g) technologies, products and solutions, radio technology,
WLAN applications, site surveys, design, products, configurations,
security and more.
The Center for Workforce Training can bill
employers for the training programs. For registration or more
