Boise State Symphonic
Winds To Present Spring Concert
| The
Boise State University Symphonic Winds ensemble will present its
2004 spring concert at 4 p.m. Sunday, April 25, in the Morrison
Center Main Hall. Admission to the concert is free for all
students, $5 for adults and $3 for seniors.
The program will open with �Cauldron� by Scott Boerma, an exciting
new work for band performed previously in Boise by the Boise State
All-Star Honor Band under the direction of John Whitwell of
Michigan State University. This piece will be followed by the H.
Robert Reynolds transcription of �O Magnum Mysterium� and
�Armenian Dances� by Alfred Reed. Following the intermission, the
Symphonic Winds will feature Shafer Mahoney�s �Symphony in
E-flat,� the monumental work for band in six movements that
includes elements of Copland, rock and roll, blues and jazz.
