Boise State Symphonic Winds To Present Spring Concert

The Boise State University Symphonic Winds ensemble will present its 2004 spring concert at 4 p.m. Sunday, April 25, in the Morrison Center Main Hall. Admission to the concert is free for all students, $5 for adults and $3 for seniors.

The program will open with Cauldron by Scott Boerma, an exciting new work for band performed previously in Boise by the Boise State All-Star Honor Band under the direction of John Whitwell of Michigan State University. This piece will be followed by the H. Robert Reynolds transcription of O Magnum Mysterium and Armenian Dances by Alfred Reed. Following the intermission, the Symphonic Winds will feature Shafer Mahoneys Symphony in E-flat, the monumental work for band in six movements that includes elements of Copland, rock and roll, blues and jazz.
