The Marketing Educator of the Year award is the
most prestigious award granted by the MEA and represents
excellence in teaching marketing. Lincoln accepted the award at
the 28th annual conference of the MEA last week.
Regina P. Schlee, immediate past president of
the MEA, chaired a committee that evaluated the contributions of
the four marketing educators nominated for the award. The members
praised the excellence Lincoln demonstrates in the classroom, as
well as his service to the community of marketing educators as
past-president of MEA and as the editor of the Journal of
Marketing Education, Schlee said.
To be honored by the Marketing Educators
Association is certainly the highlight of my career as a marketing
professor, Lincoln said. This organizations reasoning for being
is the continual improvement in what we are able to offer and do
for our students.
Lincoln has been actively involved with the MEA
since coming to Boise State in 1980. Lincoln said he is thankful
to other members of the MEA who have mentored him and to Bill
Lathen, dean of the College of Business and Economics, and Kirk
Smith, chair of the marketing and finance department, who have
supported his involvement with the group and his nomination.
This years Marketing Educator of the Year award
was sponsored by McGraw-Hill/Irwin, one of the largest global
publishers of instructional materials for higher education.
Lincoln received $1,000 from McGraw-Hill/Irwin in appreciation for
his many contributions to the field of marketing education.
