Three students were awarded scholarships this
morning from the Idaho Lottery for their winning lottery scratch
ticket designs. Students were required to create an original
design as well as a game concept. Designs were judged on
creativity, visual appeal, play style and marketability.
This ticket, titled “Super Splatters,” is very bright and
visually appealing. Designed by Nicolet Laursen, the idea is to
uncover a bird “splat” on the windshield of one of the brightly
colored cars. If you find one, you win the prize under that
car’s hood.
Laursen won a $1,000 scholarship for her design. In addition,
Audrey Desler won a $500 scholarship for a design titled “Cash
Crop,” where players try to uncover a row of similar vegetables,
and Josie Newton won a $100 scholarship for her “Gimme S’more”
design where players try to uncover the ingredients of a s’more.
